In this life, there are people who have conditioned themselves for long distance travel. Whereas most prefer to explore places by road, others find flying by air most convenient. Doug Levitt is one man who has been hard wired to travel by road. Since he is an American citizen, his most preferred bus company is the Greyhound. To date, Mr. Doug has covered more than a hundred thousand miles of road using these buses. When Levitt decides to travel, it is mostly for pleasure. At one point in time, Doug Levitt spent an entire seven weeks traveling on Greyhound buses. It is during his escapades that he has been able to meet spectacular people, some of who scared him a whole lot.
Although travel is a hobby for Doug, he also loves exploring places so that he can get stories to write in his Greyhound Diaries. During the long trips, Levitt has met people with different stories, tales that have inspired him to be a better man. Some of the people Doug has rubbed shoulders with include former inmates, soldiers, drug addicts, politicians, and homeless people just to mention but a few. Levitt has learned that no matter how modest a person appears to be; deep down he has a sad tale to tell. Besides, there are moments that Doug allows his entertainment sides get the better of him. It is at such a moment that he chooses to sing and entertain people traveling with him on the Greyhound using his guitar and what Doug knows.
Since Levitt is also an explorer, he uses his time to capture images of places that he traverses on transit using his camera. Doug is a man much interested in helping American citizens who are very much forgotten, primarily because when you see someone traveling using a bus in the states, then it is more likely that the individual is facing financial issues.
